What Else to Consider
We like to be upfront and honest so there are no hidden surprises
We know what it’s like when hidden costs pop up so we want to be totally upfront and honest with you! Here are the third party costs you should plan for in addition to your programme fees.
POLICE CHECK (£54) - Your Police Check is paid directly to the Police Check Authority after you’ve passed your interview. If you have had an enhanced disclosure done recently or are on the update service then please let us know as we may be able to accept it.
AUSTRALIAN WORKING HOLIDAY VISA (450 AUD) – this fee is paid directly to the Australian Embassy. It's easy to apply and does not need to be done until you have been placed on the programme.
FLIGHTS TO AUSTRALIA - You can expect to pay approximately £300-700 for flights depending what flight option you choose and the month you depart to Australia.
MEDICAL FORM - this form needs to be completed by your Doctor. Cost will vary according to the medical clinic.
WHOOPING COUGH BOOSTER - the Australian Department of Health strongly advises that anyone working with children has this booster. Sometimes you can’t get this in the UK so we can book you an appointment to get it done during orientation in Sydney, Australia.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN’S CHECK - This fee can vary depending which state you are placed. The fee ranges from $80-160 (AUD).
I liked the security and assurance the AIFS Au Pair in Australia programme provides before and throughout my stay in Australia. This meant that I didn’t need to worry about things such as not being safe when I arrived in Australia. I knew if I ever need help or advice I could contact someone that would respond quickly and efficiently, and the training and orientation really made me feel at ease and made my transition extremely easy.Natalie

What Do My Fees Cover?
The AIFS Au Pair in Australia programme is the largest in Australia and has built up a solid reputation one, which you can trust.
When you join AIFS Au Pair in Australia you are assured that you will be fully supported throughout your placement. We are not just a website: AIFS has an Australian office for you to use, a community counsellor on hand to support you, and and an experienced Au Pair team.
Our worldwide team is dedicated to creating a safe and secure intercultural experience for you. We offer AIFS Au Pair in Australia to young people from close to 20 different countries, working closely with long established and experienced international partners.
How do we compare?
You may have heard of websites or companies which offer Au Pair in Australia for free or a small fee. While it may seem to save you money, these sites commonly offer little or no services or support before you depart or whilst you are in Australia - not offer the bricks and mortar security which comes with AIFS. With no on the ground support, you'll have very few options if something goes wrong.
Policies and procedures
We have the ethos of quality over quantity. AIFS Au Pair in Australia is the only Au Pair agency which has been accredited by Childwise. We have strict safeguarding and screening processes for Host Families and Au Pairs to ensure that all parties are safe and meet our criteria. We also have strict conditions for Host Families so that they have an obligation to provide you with food, accommodation, an allowance as well as a cap on the amount of hours you do. We are passionate about protecting the rights of all those involved in the programme so if you have an issue, we are just a phone call away.
