To be a great Au Pair you must be motivated, open-minded and of course love spending time with children! The term ‘au pair’ means ‘on par’ or equal, which is exactly what you will be – an equal member of your host family. AIFS Au pairs come to Australia on a Working Holiday or Work & Holiday visa (417 & 462) so you can work with your host family for 6 months and then continue working or traveling after. For some countries, you are able to extend your visa to up to 2 years by completing 88 days regional work. Are between the ages of 18-30 years old
Have 200 hours of non-family childcare experience
Be eligible for a Working Holiday Visa (417& 462) - Country list below
Have a clean criminal record
Are unmarried with no spouse or dependents
Want to spend at least 6 months loving with an awesome Australian host family

In order to work in Australia, you’ll need to get a visa which will let you work and travel. Depending on your resident country, you will need to apply for either a 417 working holiday visa or a 462 work and travel visa. Not all countries are eligible for a visa unfortunately so please check the list below before applying:
Australian Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417)
- United Kingdom
- Republic of Cyprus
- Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (including British National Overseas passport holders)
- Republic of Ireland
- Republic of Korea
Australian Work and Holiday visa (Subclass 462)
Passport holders in the following countries are eligible for the Australian Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 462):
- China, People's Republic of
- San Marino
- Slovak Republic
